My family of five have enjoyed living in Shorewood for over fifteen years – after having lived in Belgium for three years and Chicago before that. My wife, Kristine grew up in southeastern Minnesota and I grew up in southern Maine. My children have attended / are attending Minnewashta Elementary, MMW and MHS. We are blessed with great neighbors and we very much appreciate Shorewood’s relaxed lake-side community spirit.
Professionally, I lead a successful international transfer pricing / business valuation practice at WTP Advisors from my home office in Shorewood. I am a recognized expert in my field and will be co-teaching a course on Transfer Pricing at the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Business next year. My service delivery team comprises of specialized professionals located across the country, Canada and in the Netherlands.
Early in my career, I was employed by the US Postal Service as an Industrial Engineer where I led programs to plan and implement automation and process improvement initiatives. One of my key projects was the O'Hare seasonal processing operation that was critical for the Chicago metro as well as the rest of country. In the previous three years it had shutdown due to gridlock and poor planning. I designed the operation that included career government and seasonal employees which streamlined processes, decreased hours by 22% and avoided shutdowns for the first time while processing over three and a half times the volume versus the previous year.
I was a member of the Board of Directors for four years at Global Minnesota (formerly Minnesota International Center) – a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that delivers world-class educational, diplomatic, and corporate programs that connect Minnesota to the world. I served as Global Minnesota's Treasurer / Chair of the Finance Committee during my last two years on the Board.
I have a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Northeastern University in Boston and an MBA in finance from the University of Chicago's Booth School of Business. I am also a certified public accountant (CPA) with an accreditation in business valuation.
Kristine and I are active volunteers with the local Girl Scout and Boy Scout troops (my eldest son and I are Eagle Scouts). Over the past 12 years I have served as a leader with both the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. My sons and I experienced the magnificence of the boundary waters over a week-long high-adventure trip with our troop last year. Kristine serves on the Board of Directors for the Ronald McDonald House Charities - Upper Midwest.
I bring analytical tools, cost benefit frameworks, and critical thinking skills I would like to use to serve Shorewood citizens.
